Well, I really uncorked a wasp's nest here, didn't I? ;) Let me set the record straight:
I love AmiBroker, and have used it for over 4 years. I'm happy to pay for upgrades, but where I made a mistake was in misunderstanding that the step from 5.09 Beta to 5.10 was a major upgrade. I'd been updating through the betas all the way to 5.09, with no problems at all - which should be enough testament both to Tomasz's programming skills (awesome) and my lack of stress that I put Ami through. Of course I think Ami is very fairly priced - cheap in fact - and will continue to recommend it to everyone that I know who needs a charting package. It was just that misunderstanding - for which I apologise - re the upgrade from 5.09 to 5.10, and the $99 charge for THAT step. Now that Tomasz has cleared up his upgrade policy, I'm more than happy to pay my $99. I hope you can all see where my confusion arose, having been using 5.09, then APPEARING to be charged $99 to "upgrade" to 5.10. My mistake, mea culpa, and all that. Tomasz - apologies for implying that your upgrade policy was somehow unfair - that was not my intention. As I said - a misunderstanding on my part. I do have one other question, just before paying up like a good AmiBroker citizen.... ;) On the upgrade page, I see that it is actually $139 to upgrade the Pro version. I initially purchased the Pro version, but cannot use most if not all of the extra features here in Australia.. I use it as a basic version only. Am I still up for the $139, or do I go the $99 route which converts my Ami back down to the Standard version? I can't use the realtime facilities, AmiQuote, intraday tick charts, and all the other stuff that the Pro version has, here in Australia. Is there anything in the Pro version that I can use here in Australia? most of the extra features revolve around the realtime data feeds - which I can't use.
