I also feel the bandwidth  may be the issue here.
 
Regarding the workaround you have suggested, I did that too.. what I observe 
is, the data gets backfilled before market opens, but once the I remove the 
backfill checkbox and run AA, for many of the stocks the data do not get 
updated till that instant of AA. I need to keep the checkbox always on to 
ensure the data is updated till that instant of AA. 
 
Do you experience the same thing or you get the data filled up even when you 
remove the check? kindly Try running the AA for a set of 100 or 150 symbols at 
regular intervals of 5 minutes continuously and give your feedback.
