Thanks Bill, That puts it in perspective.
Of course I have thoght about T&S and DOM but I figured they would be best played by programmer traders (because of the speed) and that most likely there would be a lot of noise (things like order changing cancelling etc not to mention that new orders can jump in at the bid/ask from out of no where. I am comfortable with a range of styles but chart trading/price action is where I hit the sweet spot. brian_z --- In [email protected], "bilbo0211" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hey Brian, > > The term tape reading comes from the olden days when stock > transactions were printed on a ticker tape and traders would watch the > tape and and make trades based on what they saw. > > Today there are 3 things that are comparable to tape reading: > > Time and Sales reading is probably the closest. > > There is reading the DOM (Depth Of Market, also called the order book) > and chart reading (also called Price Action). > > Volume Spread Analysis that the OP mentioned is a form of chart > reading that incorporates volume. > > Bill > --- In [email protected], "brian_z111" <brian_z111@> wrote: > > > > Hello Sidhartha, > > > > > learn everything you can > > > about the old tape reading skills > > > > I've seen the term used in books. > > How does it relate to trading now? > > Whats the technique? > > > > brian_z > > > > --- In [email protected], "sidhartha70" <sidhartha70@> > > wrote: > > > > > > Louis, > > > > > > Here's my tip... worth it's weight in gold.
