I guess this is what happens when the inequalities within a society that at least likes to pay lip service to egalitarianism reach a tipping point at which the rabble at the bottom is quite willing to sacrifice its own future in a suicidal attempt to punish "those rich guys".
It's certainly what happens when a representative democracy is turned into something akin to a direct democracy in which most of the participants are overwhelmingly unqualified to pass judgment on the key issue of the day. It's what happens when "elitism" becomes an epithet, and "hockey mom without a semblance of a clue" is poised on the verge of the presidency. Time to pick up some livestock, exit the cities, and prepare for barter. Congratulations, conservatives! Your philosophy of black and white carried the day.
