Tomasz, I was trying to use AB with a minimum amount of data. Currently my database settings are : 1min/1100bars/32kb per symbol. So, 60 symbols*32kb=1.8Mb I don't understand why intraday scan with "wait for backfil" takes almost 1 hour. I understand that there must be some additional "negotiation" -request the symbol, wait for data....etc. but even so it should not take that much time. I measured my connection speed using "speed meter" on 2wire.com website and it shows more than 1MB/s.
Am I right that streaming 100 symbols is equivalent to avg internet transfer of about 10kb/s at the most? And, Should the backfill of 100 symbols =3.2Mb be a matter of a few seconds with internet speed of 1Mb/s (measured)? Windows task manager shows 38% CPU (40/60 between IQ and AB) and LESS than 1% internet bandwidth usage -- WHY is it not using the entire bandwidth available????????????????? Another thing I don't understand is, why with the above numbers my Core2 Duo PC is nonresponsive when watching 4 charts ?????? I have a separate internet connection for AB and my trading platform because when I run intraday scans AB can cause other applications running on the same connection to loose the connection. And I have the fastest connection the money can buy in my area. I was complaining to IQFeed, we spend an hour online running tests and they say that everything looks ok. I saw posts from other AB users claiming that they have 8 charts on the screen on a PC two generations older than mine. I was wonder how do they manage to trade. It is my 3rd PC and I always get the same problems. I am not complaining here about AB because it is still the best program in my opinion, but I have never seen anyone else using it, so I try to get some feedback whether I just complain about things not knowing that it is the way they should be. Could someone else share their experience with AB?
