I am not sure what you are actually doing. In AB if you add a new symbol, either manually or via an import, and then import historical data the Use only local database option is set to Yes. Then when you import data from TWS is is not added to the data base.
To see if this is the problem select the symbol and click on the command Symbol>Information. When the pop-up comes up look at the bottom of the General box and see what Use only local database is set to. If it is set to Yes change it to No. Then do this for all the symbols that fail to retain data from TWS.
