Tim, While I appreciate your condition (a close relation had the same issue), I don't understand why you're opposed to spending 150 euros to get the specific functionality that you need at little to no effort. 150 euros is pretty light for an add-on - most add-ons for other platforms (Tradestation, etc) are generally more expensive.
Given your condition, and the reality that any platform is unlikely to have all the tools that you need, you'll likely have to make some additional purchases - such is the cost of doing business. As an example - I really want great point and figure charting in AB - it doesn't have it, and it may never natively have it.
