Hi everybody,
Old issue - new angle.

Is it possible to first "create" a AB database from a MS database using the
"Metastock Importer", and having created it to satisfaction, change the
database settings to use the MS plugin to update it seamlesly?

The reason I ask is The MS database is configured into folders (each with a
Master/ Emaster file) that classify different market segments, indices etc,
separately. This is a good structure to have. And when this database is read
on Equis Metastock, I can actually browse the folder and get into that
market segement I want.

But when I use MS plugin to CREATE a AB database, all the tickers get
clubbed under one market/ group. The seperation offered in the original MS
database is lost. I then have to use the "organise Assignments" tool to
separate this into groups and watchlists.

And when the original MS database comes with non standard 8-digit numbers as
ticker symbols, using the "organise assignment" tool is impossible, because
this tool only reads tickers and not full names.

"...so you see I have come to doubt, all that I once held as true......."

thanks in advance for any help to get me out of this vicious cycle.
