That maight be the case. Windows (especially Vista and 7) seem to delay write much more than XP and the application may be closed completely, yet Windows filesystem cache has not been flushed completely so it causes problems. Give it one more second for file system to finish writing files.

I hardly ever open more than one instance of AB. My guess is that if I close AB then immediately open it causes resetting params to default. I think the reason maybe that if AB doesn't finish writing the param file to disk and one starts AB again, it is as if two instances are running.

    Yes, this has recently also become a problem for me. Support
    informed me that there could be various causes (i.e. corrupt
    [broker] file, inability to write/update to file). One of the
    suggested solutions: to install AB on a different (than C) drive.
    Because I can't do this in my particular set-up the problem has
    not been solved.
