BTW, I just noticed that I have UAC, User Account Control, set at "Never Notify" for all of Win7 on my laptop. That may be the reason I can shut down and restart, without loosing settings in AutoVer 1.2.2. Maybe there is no difference between 1.2.2 and 1.3.0 in this regard.

Anyway, I will not be upgrading to 1.3.x until the next version is available.

Autover seems to work fin on XP. I only have problems in Windows 7.

Booker, I have Acronis too but AutoVer makes a backup of each file that has been changed. So if you are editing and Apply afl formulas code changes are backed up as development goes on. Not that is doesn't overwrite older versions, it creates a new file for each changed formula.

Herman and others --
When you posted your problem regarding AutoVer 1.3.0 on March 1, I decided to stick with version 1.2.2. on my XP-64, until the problems with 1.3.0 get ironed out. I have a laptop, which has Win7-64 on it but I don't use it very often, so did not bother to load AutoVer on it all.

Until just know, yep just for you, I just loaded version 1.2.2 on it. Haven't used it much, and probably won't, unless you can remember what your problem was, and tell me how I might reproduce it.

BTW, I just shut down my Win7 and restarted. AutoVer was still there and has my one watch folder as I'd previously setup. And it auto-saved as well.

Yadis Backup, as mentioned by Rob, does look interesting, and I notice that they just came out with a new version today. Looks like sorta the same philosophy as AutoVer.

You might also want to take a look at "Oops! Backup". They say automatic backups. But I couldn't tell from their website exactly what they meant by it. Some software, like one of Karenware's tools, does backups of your entire folder every n time periods -- not what we are looking for.

One thing that I like about AutoVer, it's so damn simple (sorta like me). BTW, I tried 1.2.2's explorer without much success. Doesn't bother me though, because it's really not necessary.

What's nice about AutoVer is that you can Very Easily set it up to back up just the files you want it to. And it will automatically backup those files the instant they change. No fuss, no muss, no extra key strokes or mouse clicks, no distractions of any kind, mechanical, visual or audio.

Hope this helps.

Hi Herman,

I have seen several references to Autover on this message board so it must work. Since I have a steady backup using Acronis, would it be benificial for me to use Autover also? I still use XP Pro
