Okay, I'm in AmIRC (3.4), I get up the Channel List window. I put in a
search pattern and click 'reread list'.
Then, I go to Workbench, load up Grapevine, wait for GV to load up,
then connect to a random server, wait for me to be connected. Then, I
do a /list with the same search pattern and wait while it lists. Then,
when it's done, I quit Grapevine, load up MpegA-GUI and start an Abba
Teens song. I go to the kitchen and have a sandwich while listening to
the song, and then come back to the computer when the song ends. I
load up Grapevine again, connect to the same server AmIRC is connected
to, and do a /list again with the same search pattern, quitting after
the /list output is done.
Then I go back to AmIRC, wait a few more minutes, and finally the
channels show up in the Channel List window.
Am I the only person who finds it odd that a 5+ year old IRC program
performs the same /list several dozen times faster then a brand new
IRC program that just got updated?
