Hi everybody,
I use Amirc on several IRC servers, however the main log file can't be written to by more than one Amirc at a time. I get the: Log Unable to open log file "PROGDIR:Logs/AmIRC.log" (error 202). for each amirc.2, .3 etc. I had the same problem when logging channels with the same name on different IRC servers, for example a channel named #xmas2003 on undernet and efnet. I solved that problem when choosing to include the servername in the name of the logfile. But then another problem occured. Amirc seems to be hardcoded to only use 29 char long filenames. I'm sure the majority of Amiga users use now filesystems which allows longer names right? Well my log files get "cutted" names. So I have a suggestion that there could made an own .config file for each Amirc you start, like when you choose to connect thread. And also that limitation on the filenames. I use Amirc 3.5.21. Pardon my bad language/spelling. mvh/rgs, Dag R.
