Hello All,
Due to lack of time and lack of space, I am regretfully in need of disposing of a good ton of gear I have collected over the years. One item in particular that many of you have heard and read about is the "Bartlesville" transmitter. I had hoped to rebuild this unique and remarkable transmitter shortly after acquiring it some three or four years ago, but never found the time to get it all back together. I have however, re-built most all the power supplies, and started the VFO/exciter deck to the point where it does generate a decent driving power to the pair of 450TL's I had intended to use as finals. The exciter uses a single 100th as the driver and a Johnson 122 VFO. The modulator deck as been on the air in beta test with my BC-610 w/450TL final. The modulators are a pair of 849 triodes in class 'B' and deliver a good 1200 watts of audio. The UTC VM-5, which came with the transmitter, is in good shape as well. Most all audio xfmrs are Thordorson and UTC and produce exceptional audio with the ability to respond into the sub-bass region. Many of you heard the audio when I was on the air a few years back with the entire audio chain of this transmitter, including the ALL tube speech amp/mixer with three inputs, including low and high z.. I also have a Symetrix 522 a can sell for those interested. The entire system weighs at least 1000 lbs and all components are HEAVY duty to say the least. I have a separate HV transformer and parts for both the final and modulator supply. The final supply uses the original Thordorson 3000v xfmr, and I have a plate xfmr from a T368 w/choke from same I was going to use for a separate mod supply. I could go on and on regarding the quality of the components, but prefer to discuss the details as needed via email or telephone to those truly interested in having a "BIG" rig with a lifetime of potential. Bear in mind that the transmitter can and will exceed the legal limit (depending on what your opinion of that is). A single 450TL running a 3000vdc will provide a good KW output and do so running at 400ma with little color on the plates. They can run bright orange with no damage, much like the 250TH. There are many ways to reduce the output, which will also allow the transmitter to run much cooler and last longer than many of us will live. I can provide detailed photos on any and all components of this transmitter on request from serious individuals. I am also including two 72" rack cabinets (with unused blank panels to fill both sides), which I had intended to rebuild the unit in, one for the RF section and one for the audio section. All original (10) Triplet panel meters are included as well. An article on this transmitter is available at http://amfone.net/bvilletx.htm, which I published a few years back when I had amfone.net. BTW, the logbooks, QSL cards and other documents mentioned in the article go with the transmitter, as they should. Due to weight, etc., I can NOT ship this. Buyer must pick up in central Arkansas. This is really an opportunity is get a transmitter with really hard to find components ready to install, not to mention some really neat history. Reasonable offers will be accepted. Please contact me initially via email at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Serious inquires only please. I have other items for sale and can send a list to those interested once I get it together. 73 All, Brian / W5AMI AM Radio List manager ---------------------------------------------------------------- B.
