Well, for $5000.00, anyone could build a VERY nice plate modulated
kilowatt....or a few.
Including Peter Dahl iron, and a nice cabinet to put it in.

Many classic rigs demand a very high price for nostalgia, not because
they are good transmitters, or a good value dollar for watt.

I suppose its a good investment, the price is bound to only go up.

Why do I very rarely ever hear a desk kilowatt on the air?

The 500 was also a very nice piece of equipment, you don't see many of
those...
