That's not a bad idea Don. I would be a little watchful about the resonance of the reactance's of the modulation XFMR and the filter cap I guess that if the plate current is still flowing in the modulators and with the feedback that gates uses any oscillation trains should be damped pretty good.

In the cw mode, the mod reactor will act as an additional filter choke in series with the regular power supply one, while the cap effectively shorts out the secondary of the mod transformer.
