OK Guys ! all this great talk about 4-400's, 833a's, and all has my blood flowing again for a nice homebrew BIG AM rig. and all i have left in the junk box tube wise is a few 100th's. well a few dozen 6146's hummm 8 driving 16 ????? and the talk about the glow thru the window brings back flashes of late night snow coming down, hot mug of coffee, cat at your feet, quite house, a quite 80 band and S9+ west coast signals coming into Kentucky with a weak KH6 qso going on a few kcs down the band.. oh well I can still dream. wonder what that spare NIB tranny for my apha 89 might run.. and that old 4 ft wheeled rack unit stacked behind the boxes out in the workshop.. did i not put that box full of oil filled caps inside it 15 yrs ago ? seems like i wrapped up those new 3 inch voltage and ampere meters in that box also.. yep put them with the BC 610 coils when i found i never had time to build any more.. oh the good ol days with the eyes were bright and clear and the brain was sharp and quick.. the days were 48 hrs long , the yard did not need cutting, fill up the car , take out the trash, take the grand kids to town, and the back did not start hurting 10 mins after I lifted that 90 lb rig upon the bench.. ok now if i could just find one of you young whipper snappers to build me a rig .
