A typical linear, 100 watts pep in, 1300-1500 watts pep output. 25 watts AM carrier input to the linear is 100 watts pep!
Looks like 250-375 carrier is max for legal limit. Very few amps are for more than 1KW continous input. but they will do 25% duty cycle at several KW for a very long time.See Alpha etc. Stick with coupla hundered watts carrier with pair 3-500z unless you have stock in Eimac The FCC , while not everyone agrees, made it pretty simple: get a good peak reading wattmeter and don't go over 1500 watts output. More positive modulation , less modulation, Class A, AB,B, C, D, E! You be the judge. The wattmeter is the JURY! 73 and Merry Christmas, Mike, K4XM --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
