Absolutely, it only lives in the minds of many AM'ers and disgruntled SSB'ers. I can operate AM on any frequency where there are phone privileges. There is no reason to restrict yourself to 20 KHz or less worth of band space on 75. Most published "band plans" only identify 3885 as an AM calling frequency. Hanging around this frequency on 75 for all your AM activity is silly.
