WOULD IT BE THE ROSEN OR WHAT EVER FLUX THAT MAY BE IN THE SOLDER THAT EATS
UP THE WIRE OR IS IT THE LEAD/TIN METTEL THAT DOES AN ELECTROLISIS THING
WITH THE COPPER IN HIGH HUMIDITY.
Curious, things I had never thought about, such as tin and silver
whiskers, now that is just weird stuff.
BTW, what is in sold these days?

BTW, one of the things that makes many older transformers open up is the
solder itlelf, that eats up the fine wire, the same process that causes your
soldering gun tip to slowly disintegrate. The process is exacerbated by
humidity. Some of the newer solders are not supposed to do that (don't know
about the lead-free stuff).
