Unless the underlying glue is so brittle that it lost most of it's adhesive properties, I agree with Todd that you'll more than likely damage the label trying to remove it.
You might try a razor scraper, but more often than not, you'll cut the label. Using this method is risky. On BC radios I restore, I never remove lables unless they're just about to fall off; the risk of damage is too great. >.
