It was great seeing so many AM'ers at the Fort Wayne Hamfest! This is becoming a real gathering place for the AM crowd. I really enjoyed visiting with several of the Midwest Classic Radio Net and DX-60 Net participants and the guys that we regularly talk to on 75 and 160. Lots of great boatanchor gear showed up as well. A 75A2 followed me home. Now all I have to do is get it working.
Thanks everyone for your support of the hamfest! 73, Jack, W9GT From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Nov 21 09:13:35 2005 Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Original-To: [email protected] Delivered-To: [email protected] Received: from lentil.epix.net (lentil.epix.net [199.224.64.67]) by mailman.qth.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5EFAF859C16; Mon, 21 Nov 2005 09:13:29 -0500 (EST) Received: from tom1 (UNUSED-64-111-137-225.UNUSED.EPIX.NET [64.111.137.225]) by lentil.epix.net (8.12.10/2005102001/PL) with SMTP id jALE6NcX023341; Mon, 21 Nov 2005 09:06:26 -0500 (EST) Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> From: "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Discussion of AM Radio" <[email protected]>, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [AMRadio] Ham Radio in a Boatanchor Movie - "Grand Jury Secrets." In this movie Whitey Marsh (Mickey Rooney) has frequent conversations with his friend Pee Wee (Bobs Watson) over the amateur radio waves. Whitey transmits from the home of his adoptive parents, while Pee Wee is at the amateur radio club in Boys Town. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Discussion of AM Radio" <[email protected]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, November 21, 2005 6:48 AM Subject: Re: [AMRadio] Ham Radio in a Boatanchor Movie - "Grand Jury Secrets." > I don't know the name of it, but one of the old Mickey Rooney movies from > the 40's had a very prominent display of ham radio with a big rack and panel > transmitter, etc. Was it Boy's Town?
