Maximum voltage for the 6L6 is 360 volts. Fot the 1614, it is 500 volts. That is why the ranger, which uses 500 volts or a bit more uses the 1614 instead of the cheaper 6L6. The 1614 is RF rated as a transmitting tube while the 1614 is not. A 6L6GC is a pretty close relative..
