You might want to look at the Gonset G-28. Its a great concept to begin your thoughts. Separate TX & RX VFOs.

I am looking for a good construction article for a nice 10 meter AM transceiver, tube type VFO controlled. Have studied the one from Bill Orr Radio HB 16th edition 27-6 by W7JNC. Although it is a mobile design am considering it for less compact fixed station style. Thanks, Byron WA5THJ.
