I'm not sure Jim. I never open it up. It plays fair, but I would have 
expected better from Collins. I have heard there are some modifications out 
there to open it up (one involves a L-C network where the filters go). Maybe 
I just have my expectations too high. It has been reworked by W3HM, but 
somehow he never re-installed the crystal calibrator nor has he found it.

Hey Mike, are you sure the filter is good?  Sometimes they develop problems
after many years.   Me thinks they had some sort of foam in them to help
prevent movement of the discs and it can deteriorate.
