I'm not sure Jim. I never open it up. It plays fair, but I would have expected better from Collins. I have heard there are some modifications out there to open it up (one involves a L-C network where the filters go). Maybe I just have my expectations too high. It has been reworked by W3HM, but somehow he never re-installed the crystal calibrator nor has he found it. Hey Mike, are you sure the filter is good? Sometimes they develop problems after many years.
