This is a last minute reminder of the "Jamboree On The Air" (JOTO) event that is to take place the weekend. Please join in and talk to some boy scouts. I will be with Troup 1772 of the Sam Houston Area Council. Our operations for JOTA will take place while camping at the Galveston Island State Park on Galveston Island in Texas. I will be there Friday the 20th in the afternoon through Sunday morning. Operations for us will probably end Saturday evening. Anyone in the area is welcome to come by and visit and/or help in the teaching of radio to scouts. We will be operation with the call letters of WA5BXO, WA5PKD, or AA5OP, Joe with the Tide Lands Amateur Radio Club who will be camping with us as well and bringing their Emergency Communications Trailer.
Hope to see you on the air. We will be mostly on SSB, some PSK31, SSTV, CW, and RTTY. Look for us anywhere on any band. JOTA is a World Wide Event. Do some research on the internet about it? This is my first time but it looks like fun.
