Dave, that's a nice write up of your BC-1 project. Thanks for sharing. These transmitters are very common, and today are very commonly available free for the taking. The 900 pound, large cu. ft. cabinet of the Gates cannot compete with the little rack-mount MOSFET transmitters that are replacing them.
I wish we could hear KJ8CQ -- Steve more often. He has his up on 40 meters and it makes a nice signal.
