The ARRL has withdrawn it's threatened bandwidth petition, RM-11306, that (when it was first uttered) would have imposed the first-ever restrictions on AM.
After recently dramatically scaling back the scope of their club's proposal in the face of overwhelming opposition, the League's administrators now have scuttled the Petition entirely, and informed the FCC not to pursue consideration. Perhaps trying to save face, ARRL people have issued a fresh threat to try again in the future despite the opposition expressed.
