The ARRL has withdrawn it's threatened bandwidth
petition, RM-11306, that (when it was first uttered)
would have imposed the first-ever restrictions on AM.

After recently dramatically scaling back the scope of
their club's proposal in the face of overwhelming
opposition, the League's administrators now have
scuttled the Petition entirely, and informed the FCC
not to pursue consideration.

Perhaps trying to save face, ARRL people have issued a
fresh threat to try again in the future despite the
opposition expressed.
