National built just the receiver to their spec. They did all the diversity
work.
I wasnt there yet but saw the order in the files as we continued to supply
spares and replacement parts.
A lot of strange stuff went out of there built to order. I have an NBS-1
which is probably the rarest of them all at least since the early 30's.

Carl,
For a few years I had a NC-183DR here that was a diversity version dome by
Northern Radio<? I think> Interesting as the highest tuning band was
gone. I talked to a few people who had them and one guy who had the M.O.
for the syatem. I was wondering if you were involved with these? Did
they buy standard units from you and rework them or, as I suspect, did you
guys build a special version for them?

I guess it is one of a kind as the R-651/URR-39 is based around a
NC-183DR.
These show up occassionally on Ebay at reasonable prices.
A true NC-183DR (not modified with VLF and the uncalibrated bandspread
dial)
brings a much higher price.
