If the beer can vertical wasn't a joke it had to be silliest idea anyone ever came up with. Why go to all that trouble when you could do the same thing with a piece of gutter downspout, which cost pennies per foot in those days.
A. teenagers often didnt have those pennies or a car back in "those days". Scrounging cans was easy.
B. Teenagers then and now werent always known for thinking things thru. C. Hams have always been known to be thrifty. D. Were you ever a teenager?
