Dont use a one or two tube regen as a benchmark.
They sure have their flaws but the WW2 Navy RAL receiver is possibly the
pinnacle of the breed.

I can likely give you 90% of the parts (free).
I have built a few regens in the past, but think they are next to
worthless
as far as a short wave receiver goes.
Fine if you just want to build something, but they can be tricky, and
build
it in
a metal cabinet, as hand capacitance is very bad for regens.

Subject: [AMRadio] Building my first regenerative RX
I'd like to try building my first regenerative receiver but I am quite
new to tube rigs so I am looking for something relatively simple to
construct. I've been looking at the following circuit and wonder if
it'd be a good one to start with.
http://www.mines.uidaho.edu/~glowbugs/12at7_regen.html
Would I have any difficulties finding the tube, tube socket, and tube
bases?
Thanks
