Jeff, The Tom that I'm thinking of was in Langtree, TX.
He talked with W5MEU a lot, and with Vern, Wb0SUJ, on 1985. Some of the last AM contacts made by Alton, W5FAP, were also on 7160. I often talked with Alton, along with his brother-in-law Oscar, W5OEB, on 7275 after I passed my General in 1970. They didn't mind talking to a kid with a weak signal and a ranger that was on its last legs.
