I as well have an SX-42 with the matching speaker that has been 100% restored and working. Paid way to much $$$ for it and it is really useless on 75M at night as it is broad as a barn door but sounds better on FM broadcast then a lot of HD FM radio's. I would not sell it if someone put $1000 on the table right now. I use my A-2 on the air...
Very Best 73's Bob W1PE The Voice of Mesquite www.w1pe.com "Money is only temporary, but radios are forever" - Jim Little aka "the old dog"/K5BAI -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 3:43 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [AMRadio] Halli SX42 (RE JT) JT, This is somewhat of a teaser for you but I have two SX42s in my storage. Each had been in use untill developing the usual bad coupling cap problems then they were retired till I could get around to servicing. I moved shortly after and they are still in another storage. If I had not lost the use of my workshop due to fire last month I could have gone over one for you. But if you do not find anything soon then I will get one overhauled in a couple months after recovering my gear and getting another workbench/shack together. I really like the SX42 for it's audio and mode flexability when working correctly. The matching R42 speaker is a big plus. Will keep you in mind down the line. I'm in north-western Mass so pickup or a Hamfest meet would be easy. would not want to ship.
