I use a Ten Tec Titan 425 which uses a pair of the 3cx800 ceramic tubes and
will go way past legal limit and still have some headroom for modulation. I
originally used a amp with a pair of 3-500zg tubes but about 125 watts of
carrier was all you could get without the plates getting real hot.
