If the leak is where the insulator touches the metal, JB Weld should work ok, as long as you ore careful not to let any of it get on the insulator itself, other than where it contacts the metal case.

As an alternative to JB Weld, try Two Ton crystal clear epoxy. It will withstand high voltages and is also an excellent rf dielectric. I have used it to repair kw size HDVL type plug-in coils. It hardens crystal clear, and is practically impossible to remove without an epoxy solvent.
