Does anyone know if the vent plug that goes in the top of a Bird Termaline 8892 has any special features or is it just a plug with a protected hole in the top? I priced one at Bird and the silly thing is $55.00! That includes the shipping plug too, but I have that one. I can buy a vent port at the plumbers supply for a couple of dollars.
