Hi Folks, Here's what I use and I'm VERY happy with the results:
Shure KSM-27 mic. which alone would be great, but I back it up through the following audio chain... Alesis M-EQ-230 equalizer to a... Alesis 3630 Compressor, Limiter, Gate to a.... Aphex Aural Exciter type C2.... To the rigs via a W2IHY match box I have ALWAYS gotten GREAT audio reports in any mode!
