George,
   I remember borrowing a buddy's high-end turntable
  and setting it to 80 RPM back in the 70's.
   Made some fairly good copies onto reel to reel.
   A modern? stereo stylus seemed to track fine, and
  you could probably record at 78(2.5% slow).
