Regarding the "175 volts at 100 mA"

Don't overlook the possibility of using a split-primary
filament transformer.  Use one half of the primary
connected to 120 VAC, use the other half in a
voltage-doubler to get HV.  Use the filament winding
to power the filaments.

Been there, done that on an ARC-5 receiver!
