Having owned both of them, here are my personal observations: TS-2000 can't send 12 volts via the coax line for preamps; TS-2000 has double the power on 2 meters; TS-2000 is available with 1.2 GHz; FT-847 doesn't have VOX; FT-847 has been discontinued for several years, can be difficult to find in the used market, and replacement parts in the near future may be difficult to find.
I still own the 2000, but regret getting rid of the 847. 73 de W4AS On Apr 13, 2010, at 12:41 PM, Bill Dzurilla wrote: > Any thoughts on the pros and cons of each of these rigs, particularly for > satellite work?
