I didn't have to do anything special to get it to run on my Win7/64 machine...  

Did you install SatPC32 to the default folder (Program Files\SatPC32)?  Win7's 
User Account Control can cause problems if programs are installed to the 
Program 
Files folder, and you are not running as Administrator.
