The Yaesu FT-726 was a decent sat rig back in the day.

Cons: Low power output ( only ten watts ) and limited frequency coverage 
on UHF ( either 430-440 or 440-450 but not the full range )

I think it lacked the tracking VFOs implemented in the FT-736 which was 
a real nice feature.

Also no CAT control with this rig which was what motivated me to trade 
up to a pair of Icom twins ( IC-271 and IC-471 ).

For the money though, it would be hard to balk.
