Bruce, ARISSat-1 and the ISS are at rather low altitudes, deep in the shielding magnetosphere. The inclination is only about 52 degrees, so they don't transit the polar cusps. That is _not_ to say there will be no effects, but it is in a _relatively_ safe orbit.
