Two Galileo satellites have been put into orbit from the Russian Soyuz launch facility at Kourou in the Caribbean.
They will transmit a broadband signal across 1260-1300 MHz that will raise the noise floor. They may also raise questions regarding long-term Amateur access to 1260-1300 MHz if consumer devices using that Galileo downlink were to come into widespread use. About 6 years ago Peter G3LTF looked at the potential interference to Galileo From 23cm Amateur Radio operations, you can read his thoughts here: http://www.southgatearc.org/articles/galileo.htm 73 Trevor M5AKA _______________________________________________ Sent via [email protected].
