Knowing little about design, I just wonder if rather than deploying cubesats
fitted as ballast, a transponder could not be fitted to the hull of the
appropriate vessel which contains the sats and ballast? It could also relay
vibrations from the vessel as it tumbled in the sky and would therefore have
some utility to launch provider? I think this approach was adopted by Aatis in
Germany a few years ago.
