I agree with Stefan's email below (VE4NSA). Set it up for LHCP. VO-52 seems 
very LHCP as well as AO7. I used LHCP on 2 meters and RHCP on 70 cm for years 
with good success.

 I recently added polarization switching to my old KLM. I didn't have success 
on the first try. Compared with my reference signal before and after, the 
project at first attenuated the signal.

To make a long story short.

Try it before you spend more money. It probably will be a good antenna for
your attic. No water issues at that location. Set it up for LHCP and with
the current satellites it will work most of the times just fine.

Why pay big
 bucks for a "newer" one if this will work for you.
