Hi Richard, G3RWL If you have the original manual of the elevation rotator KR-500 there is a clear mechanical drawing inside showing bearings ,ball retainers, gears and all shaft in line so that it is very easy to understand how proceed.
If you don't hown the above drawing I can send to you a scanned copy of it. You did already the most critical job to remove the eigth screws fastening both alves of the rotator HI....HI !
