Hello Vince The FUNcube Dongle Pro plus makes a very nice satellite receiver with the SDR – Radio Console V2. It allows an advanced analysis of all signals received in the 96 kHz Dongle’s bandwidth and you can record all the bandwidth as an IQ recording and playback it later.
You can use an outdoor antenna with preamplifier. In fact, the FUNcube Dongles can power a preamplifier through the feed cable. If you want to use a shorted circuit antenna without preamplifier like a Slim Jim, you should turn off the bia in the software. 73!
