João, According to Bird, the 43 is good to 2.7 GHz with the correct elements:

Coaxial Dynamics sells elements which cover this range which should be usable with the Bird 43: http://www.coaxial.com/products/82000_series.htm I assume you have a standard 400-1000 MHz element. Depending on your needs, it MAY be accurate enough.
