I can offer a better explanation ;) It's the daughter of Steve Greenland, the UKube-1 systems engineer. He got to pick the default CW beacon and the AX.25 TO Address when ordering the radio, and picked his daughters name. Midori means green in Japanese If I understand it correctly, which makes it a nice name in combination with her last name Greenland.
