How about renaming the configs to something meaningful, like statusbg and
contactlistbg. The way you have it now is just confusing, contactlistbg is
now not for the contact list but for the status area, and wtf is nicelist,
if someone just looked at the settings they would have no idea what it is.
Please try to name 'variables' or 'configs' with meaningful names, it is a
huge help when programming or skinning.
